Active Lighthouse

Browns Head Lighthouse remains an active aid to navigation, maintained by the U.S. Coast Guard and still featuring its original 4th-order Fresnel lens. The property is now accessible for private stays, offering a quiet, off-the-grid setting within Maine’s largest island community.

The site includes a seasonal two-bedroom keeper’s residence positioned on approximately 12 acres, with unobstructed views across the Fox Islands Thoroughfare.

Recent renovations have preserved the integrity of the structure while updating the interiors, resulting in a setting that feels both historically grounded and distinctly singular.
